About Me

My name is Patrick Lerouge and I am a licensed massage therapist.  I am a member of the American Massage Association and graduated from the Swedish Institute in New York with an occupational degree in 2000.  During my time at this 1200 hour hands-on treatment school I gained an in-depth understanding of the human body and modalities such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point Technique which I incorporate into all my sessions.  I have also completed seminars in Crainosacral work, Home Spa treatments, and other courses such as Acupressure.  I continue to take courses to further my knowledge of pain relief due to over-use, over-work, or trauma.  Most recently I have studied the Muscle Release Technique.  I have completed two courses so far and am now a Teacher's Assisant.  I practice this technique in all my sessions for the quickest, most effective results.

During this treatment relaxation is a given; healing is the direction we want the body to go in.  In order to achieve maximum results, first you must get the mind to turn off.  This provides the body time and the ability to stop protecting itself and begin the healing process.  Once this occurs you assist the body in perfoming normal ranges of motion with specific muscles the way they are intended to move.  The reason why this happens is because the body is now able to clear up knots, adhesions, and scar tissue, allowing more range of motion, no pain, and overall great feeling.  The Golden Rule with this treatment is nothing is ever going to hurt during the session.  Once the body detects any pain it will begin to protect itself and the healing process will end, therefore all my work is pain free.

I worked at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Central Park location in New York City.  There I worked on the elite of the world, some of the most demanding clients, and they all asked for me everytime they returned.  The training I received at the Ritz has given me the confidence that I need to start my own practice.  I began working on it two years ago and have a thriving practice in Westfield NJ.

The clients that receive the best results from working with me are those who care about their bodies.  You must have a true passion to improve quality of life by living and moving pain free. Those who are not willing to help themselves will not benifit greatly from my services.  In the end it is you who does the healing, not me, I am simply here to guide you.

I am currently working with three different coaches, as well as a few mentors.  With their teachings I am realizing that every moment is a learning experience.  My practice is evolving from that mind state and I am not just working with injuries anymore, I am also helping clients have better quality of life.  I teach stress management techniques and assist with the dissolvement of emotional debri, and best of all honoring oneself.
